Tisha b’Av Learning at Mayyim Hayyim, Newton MA
Tuesday, July 16, 2013, 7:30am – 9:00pm
Mayyim Hayyim invites you to come learn and be inspired by author and Women of the Wall founder Bonna Devora Haberman at a unique Tisha b’Av program. Dr. Haberman will share her influential vision and theology based on 24 years of sacred service at the remnant of the miqdash (sanctuary or sacred place, The Kotel). She will also reflect on her most recent book, “Israeli Feminism Liberating Judaism: Blood and Ink”. Applying provocative interpretations, she will engage participants in a discussion of the historical Temple commemorations’ relevance to our lives today. The program will give participants the opportunity to learn to chant somepiyutim — liturgical poetry or songs of longing.
December 2013 – January 2014
Bonna Devora Haberman is currently making scholar-in-residency, speaking, seminar and workshop engagements throughout North America. Please click on the link above for more details and contact her directly to bring her to your community or institution:
